Track of the Week: "Cool" by Jonas Brothers

The 2000s teen heartthrobs have returned and each one is rocking a pair of shades and a Hawaiian shirt, ready for beach parties, fancy cocktails, luxury cruises and all things fun in the sun.

Making up for their track's short duration, spanning at about two and a half minutes, the #Jonas #Brothers have arranged "#Cool"'s release with impeccable timing, setting it in April during the season of spring and the onset of summer. Aside from this, they disperse a series of celebrity and pop culture references, such as James Dean, Jane Fonda, Post Malone, and #Game #of #Thrones, and tie them in with their personal lives. For Game of Thrones, specifically, the Jonas Brothers are subliminally referring to #Joe Jonas's fiancée Sophie Turner who plays the role of #Sansa #Stark in this suspenseful television program. Moreover, #Nick Jonas has a case of monomania when it comes to using the lyrics "red dress." The song "Cool" automatically serves as a parallel to their previous hit song "#Burnin' #Up" because of the same mention of a red dress. The only difference is, the red dress in "Cool" refers to Nick Jonas's wife #Priyanka #Chopra and her outfit at their wedding.

Music-wise, I thoroughly enjoyed the acoustic intro before the beat struts in as well as the airy instrumental bridge. The Jonas Brothers even impressed me with their toying of the sound-bite "ooo" in the following imperfect/near-rhymes like 'cool', 'do', 'moves', and 'two'. A liberating sensation grows within you as the chorus comes rushing in like a tidal wave, splashing about and singing:

"Lately, I've been feelin' so cool (Cool)

Top to the bottom, just cool (Cool)

Every little thing that I do (Do)

Dammit, I'm feelin' so coo-oo-oo-oo-oo-ool

It's like, ooh (Ooh), maybe I should bottle my moves (Moves)

Sell it for a dollar or two (Two)

Dammit, I'm feeling so coo-oo-oo-oo-oo-ool (Cool)."

It's official, the Jonas Brothers have graduated in creating an epic reunion and defining "Cool" as an attitude of feeling untouchable and sky-high. With a song like "Cool" as the wind beneath their pseudo-wings, the Jonas Brothers can soar upwards on the charts.
