Track of the Week: "Satellite" by Kiss Kiss

Updated: Mar 19, 2019

Remember last Friday's songwriting tip post and some of our 'role models'? Surprise! Here's one of them which we're about to unfold….

"Satellite" originates from Kiss Kiss's album Reality vs The Optimist designed with an #underground #indie #rock album cover seemingly illustrating a sparkler smacked against a solid black background. Listening intently to the lyrics, "Satellite" shows how we often deny what is beyond comprehension. While a #satellite takes photos of what lies out there, its images are still scrutinized and rejected perhaps because many find living a lie easier to stomach than learning the unbelievable truth.

The lead vocalist Josh #Benash scores extra bonus points for possessing a strident tone that coordinates satisfyingly with the song's instrumentation and is clear enough to shoot out this profound message: "Satellite, satellite, we weren't ready / To prove that time was never there / All the people on the Earth feel so lonely / Even with proof someone's there." Undoubtedly, "Satellite" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJVpBrjoEsw) has pounded its way into my head to nestle and remain there for a millennium. The electric violin collides with the forceful sound of the drums, altogether skyrocketing into another dimension. Kiss Kiss has given birth to a track bursting with monstrous energy and is too restless to sit on the sidelines.
